According to the testimony of Scripture, a true Christian is one who has placed wholehearted faith in the Lord Yeshua (Jesus) Christ—believing that He is the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again so that we might have everlasting life. Through repentance and a sincere turning of the heart toward God, the believer receives Christ as Lord and Savior and is made new by the power of the Holy Spirit. This work of grace produces a transformed life, a growing love for God and others, and a desire to walk in the ways of Christ each day.
Believing that Yeshua (Jesus) is the only begotten Son of God and trusting in His sacrificial death and victorious resurrection for the forgiveness of sins.
Turning away from a former life of sin and choosing to walk in a new path that honors the Lord.
Opening the heart to Yeshua (Jesus), embracing Him as personal Savior, and yielding one’s life to His loving rule.
Scripture teaches that those in Christ become “new creatures.” A true Christian begins to reflect the character and heart of Yeshua (Jesus) as the Holy Spirit renews the mind and reshapes the life.
A sincere desire to follow the teachings of Yeshua (Jesus) by keeping His commandments and seeking to live according to His Word and disallowing sin to enter in to our lives according to 1 John 3:4 which says, "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law"
Demonstrating Christlike love toward fellow believers, neighbors, and even those who oppose or misunderstand—revealing the compassion of the Savior.
The Holy Spirit lives within the believer, guiding, strengthening, convicting, comforting, and bearing witness that we are children of God.
Growing continually in grace—learning of Christ, walking with Him daily, and striving to reflect His example in all things.
