Discovering a Healthier Life Through God’s Design

Staying healthy depends on eating wisely and living righteously, but it also requires intentional care for the temple God has entrusted to us—our bodies. God’s Word in Leviticus gives us clear instruction, warning us to avoid foods and creatures that He declares unclean, such as pork, shellfish, eagles, ravens, vultures, hawks, rabbits, and many others. These guidelines were not given merely as rituals, but as protection for our physical well-being and a reminder that our bodies are sacred dwelling places of His Spirit. Just as the priests kept the physical temple clean, orderly, and pure, we are called to guard what enters our bodies, to be mindful of what we consume, and to avoid habits that weaken or defile the vessel God uses for His work.

In the same way, following the Ten Commandments leads us into a moral and disciplined lifestyle—one that preserves spiritual cleanliness and strengthens the heart. Choosing honesty, purity, reverence, faithfulness, and love creates inner peace and restores our emotional and spiritual balance. When we honor God by nourishing our bodies with clean, wholesome foods, caring for our health, purifying our thoughts, and living according to His laws, we experience true well-being in every part of life.

By keeping the temple clean—physically, spiritually, and emotionally—we reflect God’s perfect design and show Him that we value the incredible gift of life He has given us.
