Celebrate Recovery at Lifepointe Church

A Christ-Centered Path to Healing and Freedom

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3 (KJV)

Our Mission

At Lifepointe Church, we believe that true recovery and transformation come through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery program designed to help individuals overcome hurts, habits, and hang-ups of every kind. Whether you’re struggling with addiction, emotional pain, or life’s stresses, CR offers a safe place for you to find healing, hope, and community.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36 (KJV)

What Is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is a Biblically based recovery ministry founded on the Beatitudes of Jesus (Matthew 5). It addresses all areas of brokenness, not just substance abuse. CR recognizes that every person has areas in their life that need God’s healing power.

Through large group worship, small group sharing, step studies, and personal accountability, participants experience spiritual growth and freedom from destructive patterns.

Types of Recovery Supported

At Lifepointe Church, Celebrate Recovery welcomes anyone dealing with:

1. Addiction Recovery

Freedom from any form of substance or behavior that controls you.

  • Alcohol & Drug Addiction — Breaking free from dependence and finding wholeness in Christ.
“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.” — Ephesians 5:18 (KJV)

  • Smoking & Nicotine Addiction — Inviting the Holy Spirit to replace unhealthy cravings with God’s peace.
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 (KJV)

  • Pornography & Sexual Addiction — Overcoming temptation and renewing purity of mind and heart.
“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” — Matthew 5:8 (KJV)

2. Emotional Recovery

For those carrying pain from past trauma, abuse, rejection, or grief.

“Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” — 2 Corinthians 1:4 (KJV)

Celebrate Recovery provides tools for forgiveness, healing, and restoring emotional health through Christ’s love.

3. Relational Recovery

Healing from codependency, anger, or relational dysfunctions.

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” — Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)

4. Stress, Anxiety, and Depression Recovery

Finding peace in the midst of life’s pressures through prayer, Scripture, and community.

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)

The Biblical Foundation of Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is rooted in the Eight Principles of Recovery based on the Beatitudes from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3–10). Each principle corresponds with a step toward healing:

  1. Realize I’m not God. I admit I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:3 (KJV)

  2. Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4 (KJV)

  3. Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control.
“Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” — Matthew 5:5 (KJV)

  4. Openly examine and confess my faults to God, to myself, and to someone I trust.
“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” — Matthew 5:8 (KJV)

  5. Voluntarily submit to every change God wants to make in my life.
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” — Matthew 5:6 (KJV)

  6. Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness and make amends when possible.
“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.” — Matthew 5:7 (KJV)

  7. Reserve daily time with God for Bible reading, self-examination, and prayer.
“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” — Matthew 5:9 (KJV)

  8. Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others.
“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:10 (KJV)

Our Gatherings

Celebrate Recovery at Lifepointe Church meets weekly for a time of:

  • Worship: Lifting up Jesus through music and testimony.

  • Teaching/Testimony: Biblical lessons and real-life stories of transformation.

  • Small Groups: Gender- and issue-specific groups for confidential sharing and encouragement.

  • Fellowship: A safe and welcoming community where no one walks alone.

“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (KJV)

Why Celebrate Recovery Works

  • It’s Christ-centered, not issue-centered.

  • It focuses on spiritual transformation, not just behavior modification.

  • It builds authentic community, where grace and truth coexist.

  • It integrates biblical principles with practical recovery steps.

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” — Romans 12:2 (KJV)
